Comfort |
| |
| You are not
alone if you feel anxious about a visit to the dentist. We understand
your concerns and strive to make every dental visit comfortable. We
offer pre-medication and topical anesthesia, as well as "painless
injections." Our reception area includes a beverage bar with coffee
and various types of tea. The view from our treatment rooms offers
nature's best throughout the seasons. Music has been specially selected
for your relaxation. If there is anything else we can do to ensure
your comfort, please let us know. |

Oral Conscious Sedation |
| |
Let's face it…going to the dentist can be a nerve-racking experience. How many times have you wished that you could just sleep right through your appointment? Well, there is a solution called oral conscious sedation. It's called conscious because you are still aware of where you are but you are so relaxed that you are no longer focused on your surroundings.

| Strict
Sterilization and Infection Control Standards |
| |
To
protect our patients and ourselves, our staff wears masks, gloves,
goggles and hospital scrub uniforms. We strictly observe all Occupational
Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. All instruments
are cleaned, disinfected
and routinely sterilized as recommended by the American Dental Association
and the Centers for Disease Control. Whenever possible, disposable,
single-use items are used to ensure your safety. Handpieces (drills)
are sterilized with a state-of-the-art sterilization unit specifically
designed for this purpose. All surfaces in the treatment rooms are
cleaned and disinfected after each patient. Patient sensitivities
and adverse reactions to dental materials is a growing concern. We
cannot assume that all patients will handle all materials equally
well. Materials Reactivity Testing is
available to provide pre-placement risk assessment for hundreds of
dental materials. |
| |
Low
Radiation Digital X-Ray |
This new technology
is a win-win-win for the dental patient:
1) Radiation exposure is reduced on average 50-60% over conventional
technique.
2) The x-ray image appears on the computer monitor instantly so you
and the dentist can view it together.
3) The software program allows us to enlarge and enhance the image
for better diagnostic clarity. |

Restorative
Services - An Uncompromising Commitment to Quality |
| |
| A word about dental materials…
Our
goal at McGrath Dental Caring is to find the most biocompatible
materials for you, so as to reduce the potential for toxicity. Reactivity
testing is available to take the guesswork out of this process.
Mercury and nickel are always avoided and metal-free options are
available. These restorative options are natural in appearance,
no more dark fillings or grey metal showing at the gum line of crowns.

| Help
for Snoring and Sleep Apnea |
| |
Do
you wake yourself or someone else with your snoring? Studies show
that about 40 percent of middle-aged men and nearly 30 percent of
middle-aged women snore. Connections have been made between snoring
and potentially fatal obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). OSA and snoring
have also been linked to other diseases, such as hypertension and
cardiovascular disease. One of the causes of OSA and snoring is your
tongue. When you sleep, your tongue can reposition itself blocking
your airway. Certified in the use of The Silencer System, Dr. McGrath
can design an appliance to help adjust the position of your tongue
and restore peace to your bedroom. |

I now have a smile that I' m really proud to show. My dentures are comfortable. My gums no longer hurt and as for smiling...I just can' t stop!"
" I'd had it with the bad taste of denture adhesive. My dentures were constantly loose.
I couldn' t enjoy the taste of my food because of the plastic from my dentures. My new implants gave me the strongest most secure bite I' ve ever had. I can smile all the time and not worry about loose dentures. As for food..it' s like I' m tasting it for the first time!"

| What
do you do if you see yourself with these symptoms? A self-evaluation
is a good place to start. There are a number of helpful questions
to ask yourself. How many of these symptoms do I have? Do these
symptoms get in the way of my enjoyment of life? Are my symptoms
becoming more frequent or more intense? Our office has a variety
of effective treatments depending on your own individual need. Early
treatment is very important. TMD advances in stages and only progresses
over time. For more information, click on the Patient Education
button and enter TMD in the search box.
